Malcolm X, otherwise known as al-Hajj Malik al-Shabazz, was shot dead on February 21, 1965 while giving a speech the Organization of Afro-American Unity in Manhattan’s Audubon Ballroom, New York, after some commotion broke out in the conference hall.

Today marks the 49th year since the assassination of Malcolm X, may God have mercy upon his soul. He was a man whose life transformed in only four decades. He inspired millions to become better human beings and inspired thousands to embrace the Prophet Muhammad’s message.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that “the best of people are those that bring most benefit to humanity.”

And Malcolm said: “I’m for truth, no matter who tells it. I’m for justice, no matter who it is for or against. I’m a human being, first and foremost, and as such I’m for whoever and whatever benefits humanity as a whole.”

May God help us all to embody Prophetic values as Malcolm X did, always standing up for truth, justice and what’s best for humanity. Amen!
